Suspension of Tightened Chinese Export Controls

Summary of sintered NdFeB – HRE Content of Material

Suspension of Tightened Chinese Export Controls

The export control measures announced in October 2025 for certain materials and technologies have been suspended until November 10, 2026. This suspension affects, among others, Announcements No. 56, 57, 61, and 62 issued by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).

What does this mean for you?

  • No additional licenses required: The new licensing requirements for rare earths and production equipment are temporarily suspended.
  • Supply chains remain stable: Planned deliveries can proceed as scheduled.
  • Existing rules remain in force: Previous export controls (e.g., for Samarium, Terbium, Dysprosium) continue to apply.

Our Recommendation Use this time to review your supply chains and consider alternatives such as switching to completely HRE-free magnets (without Dy/Tb/Ho/Gd). The suspension is temporary – after November 2026, these measures may come back into effect.

You can find the current feasible magnet grades without any HRE as a PDF.
