SNAKELINE magnets power a new world record

Speed thrills – acceleration world record

0 to 100 km/h in just 0.956 seconds!

On September 1, 2023, students from ETH Zurich and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts smashed the acceleration world record for electric vehicles. Their vehicle, “Mythen,” zoomed from 0 to 100 km/h in a breathtaking 0.956 seconds. The AMZ team has now officially been recognized by Guinness World Records for this astonishing achievement. This record is a testament to the students’ intense work and dedication. They didn't just engineer the motors; they crafted and optimized every component of the vehicle, including circuit boards, chassis, and batteries, from the ground up. They also innovated a unique solution for effective power transfer to the ground. A special drivetrain and a unique “vacuum” under the vehicle ensure strong traction, enabling this stunning sub-one-second acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h.

Of course, we’re thrilled to be the magnet supplier for the revolutionary four hub motors of “Mythen.” The installed magnets, known as SNAKELINE magnets, are patented and boast enhanced performance by reducing eddy currents.

Our warmest congratulations to the AMZ team on their extraordinary success! This collaboration has showcased how innovative technologies – our SNAKELINE magnets – can push the boundaries in electric mobility. We’re excited for more groundbreaking developments and records to come!
